(no subject)

I just recently started watching House.

I just watched House pull a 25 foot tape worm out of a girl's stomach.

I am five seconds from getting sick to my stomach.

I'm also fairly certain I will never eat fish again.

*gags*

Oh, that episode.

LOL I was totally grossed out when I saw that, too. Yeah, it wasn't cute :\

[identity profile] samsom.livejournal.com 2009-02-08 04:33 am (UTC)(link)
Thank God I wasn't watching it last night.

We had spaghetti.

*swallows*

I thought I'd seen every episode but I don't remember that one. Hmmm.

So other than that, do you like the show?

I just got my niece hooked on Dexter. She borrowed my S1 DVDs and had to go out and rent S2. *hee*

[identity profile] samsom.livejournal.com 2009-02-08 06:08 am (UTC)(link)
Fucking LJ just ate my whole post. GRRRRR!

Okay, let's see if I can redo this.

It's the episode with the girl who can't feel pain? The one where House wanted to graph her nerve into his leg in order not to be in pain anymore?

I like it, I really do. I had watched a cluster of episodes about a year or so ago but for some reason stopped. This time hubby started watching and since I'm in the room with him, I started again. I really love it, because his abrasiveness doesn't seem to be a wall he erects because of his pain. He's an ass to Cuddy and to his team, but they seem to like him even when they don't. Know what I mean? In fact, I was thinking tonight that it's not a story about how his team and his friends humanize him, but that he's the one influencing them, to be four times less sensitive. He is the most challenged by Foreman, he seems to be contemptible of Chase, and Cameron is totally worshipful. Why do peeps hate her, btw? She doesn't seem annoying. I love his moments of being human, but sometimes his insensitivity is a bit hard to take.

Ha, another fan is born. *rubs palms together* It's almos a fandom. lol Though, I still haven't seen the last five episodes of s3. I suck.

[identity profile] damnskippytoo.livejournal.com 2009-02-08 06:34 am (UTC)(link)
I kind of remember one about a girl who doesn't feel pain but the rest of it isn't ringing a bell. I must have been paying more attention to the computer than the TV when it was on.

House is just a loveable pain in the ass. It's hard not to like him even when he is a bastard. And, yeah, he is making them all assholes. I think you'll see your theory is accurate when you get to the end of S3 and into S4 if you haven't already. At least as far as Foreman is concerned.

I'm not really in the fandom so I don't know whey everyone else dislikes Cameron. I didn't like her because she chased after House and made an ass out of herself IMO. Plus, I think I just don't care for the actress so that doesn't help.

You really need to watch those last 5 episodes. If you weren't excited about S3, then you'll change your mind after watching those. :)

[identity profile] gabs186.livejournal.com 2009-02-08 06:55 am (UTC)(link)
LMAO! That episode is awesome.

[identity profile] samsom.livejournal.com 2009-02-08 07:32 am (UTC)(link)
Right there with you.......until he started to pull the worm out of her. While she watched.

If I were in that OR, I would have totally yakked all over the floor.

If they were lucky.

What episode and season is your icon from? I have been waiting for something more than the sexual harrassment come-ons he's been throwing her and nada so far.

[identity profile] samsom.livejournal.com 2009-02-08 07:38 am (UTC)(link)
House has the same condition as Cordelia. No head-mouth filter. I love that kind of plainspeaking. Adore it. But lawdy, sometimes....

In one of the episodes I watched today, the team thought House had terminal brain cancer or something and Cameron kissed him. Was that during her pursuit? And did she go after House before or after Chase?

The episodes are all jumbled and out of order on USA, so sometimes I watch the new team and sometimes I watch the old. I like the old.

[identity profile] gabs186.livejournal.com 2009-02-08 11:43 am (UTC)(link)
Oh CRAP. I'm such an asshole, I spoiled you! :headdesk: I'm so sorry...

Having said that, I am overjoyed that you're a Huddy fan and not a whiny Hameron one!!! :hugs you:

It's season 5, episode 6.

Again, very, very sorry.

Many a time I've been watching House and felt sick to my stomach. Probably why I never finished my pre-vet program. Something about the sight of guts. Blood, totally fine with. Organs that are still "alive" nope.

I know it's just a show but damn, sometimes I just have to look away. I have to do that with Nip/Tuck too. LOL

[identity profile] samsom.livejournal.com 2009-02-08 06:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Don't be sorry. I don't mind being spoiled, not at all. It just makes it easier to look it up on YouTube. And now I know which episode to watch for, because in some that I've watched, she's already with the baby, so it shouldn't be too long before that episode.

I lean towards Cuddy and House, because they're closer in age and he just seems so sexually preoccupied with her. Like, a lot. That red spotlight he put on her in one episode? Head, between her breasts, and down between her legs. Hello? Obvious much? I don't mind Cameron's worshipful crush on him either, so I like seeing their kiss too. Only because I have a huge power kink, and his authority over her and the way she sometimes (used to) regard him....it was all good. I basically just want to see him be kissy face - hardly matters who. But I do prefer it be Cuddy, though. :D

[identity profile] samsom.livejournal.com 2009-02-08 06:11 pm (UTC)(link)
I have no idea why FOX likes the gore so much. *shakes head*

It limits when I watch it, that's for sure. Not before dinner and NOT on a night I'm having, say....tri-tip or spaghetti. I look away a lot.

Had the same problem with Bones when I still watched that show.

[identity profile] damnskippytoo.livejournal.com 2009-02-08 06:12 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't remember the order of episodes so I'm not sure if she was with Chase at that time or not.. If I recall correctly, Cameron was after House pretty much the whole time. She slept with Chase once when they were drunk and then later they got together as a couple. But that was later in S3 I think, just before they all left. Or not. ;p

my icon is checking out your icon, lol

[identity profile] samsom.livejournal.com 2009-02-08 06:20 pm (UTC)(link)
Maybe Cameron has Daddy Issues.

Or maybe she likes broken people. Who knows? Like I said to Gabs, I want to see him be kissy face and I'm not married to any particular pairing - although I like Cuddy more than Stacy or Cameron. Just cuz he seems to be so sexually preoccupied with her.

Swear to God, in real life he'd get slapped by a sexual harrassment suit so fast and so hard, it would knock him off his good leg. :D

My icon is giving yours attitude

[identity profile] damnskippytoo.livejournal.com 2009-02-08 06:45 pm (UTC)(link)
You'll find out Cam has a pathological need to take care of men and/or fix them. So, yeah, it's all about being broken. Her husband had cancer, I think, and she took care of him until the end. House, of course, figured this all out early on which is why he keeps pushing her away because he doesn't want to be fixed.

Re: My icon wants to play now

[identity profile] samsom.livejournal.com 2009-02-08 06:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Ah, layers. Love 'em. And I'm really grooving on House's perceptiveness in regards to his team, too. Another point in his favor, Cordelia-wise.

Your icon swept mine off its feet

[identity profile] damnskippytoo.livejournal.com 2009-02-08 07:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, House spanks everyone's inner moppets but he seriously needs to deal with his own demons. He does on occasion, but he always falls back into his old habit. Flawed!

My icon didn't think it would turn out any other way

[identity profile] samsom.livejournal.com 2009-02-08 07:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Perfectly flawed. Or else what would we watch?

I'm hooked on his demons and his failings.

OMG, does that make me Cameron?? *worries*

My icon thinks it's time to get it on

[identity profile] damnskippytoo.livejournal.com 2009-02-08 07:31 pm (UTC)(link)
OMG, you ARE Cameron! It's sad and pathetic but I still wub you. :)

Re: My icon thinks talk is cheap!

[identity profile] samsom.livejournal.com 2009-02-08 07:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Thank GOD! House has Wilson to enable him. I have you. :P

My icon says....

[identity profile] damnskippytoo.livejournal.com 2009-02-08 07:46 pm (UTC)(link)
And they (points up) have each other. *sigh*

Re: My icon can't talk anymore........

I find it a bit graphic. Hubby has 4 seasons on DVD. He has vehemently warned me against ever watching the Season 3 ep "Airborne."

[identity profile] samsom.livejournal.com 2009-02-09 07:00 pm (UTC)(link)
I saw that one! It's not really as bad as, say, all the episodes where someone pulls the bedsheets back and there is blood inbetween someone's legs, or the graphic operation scenes.

Vomiting like in "Airborne" is almost a nicer alternative. As long as it's not chunky or anything. :D

[identity profile] littleheaven70.livejournal.com 2009-02-09 07:21 pm (UTC)(link)
See, I'd rather see someone getting their intestines carved up than any vomit at all. I'm phobic about it. The other two in House that squicked me were the person that vomited poo, and the guy whose eyeball exploded out of his head.

Why do I watch that show at all?

[identity profile] samsom.livejournal.com 2009-02-09 07:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Those were the GROSSEST moments EVER on ANY show. But wasn't the exploding eyeball part of House's dream after he got shot? Should we count that?

But you've faced exploding butt boils. Nothing should phase you! lol What do you do when the little guy throws up?

[identity profile] littleheaven70.livejournal.com 2009-02-09 08:01 pm (UTC)(link)
No, I'm pretty sure the exploding eyeball was on another, earlier show. But I could be wrong - I don't often pay that much attention when hubby is watching.

What do I do when Griffin throws up? Last time he did it Gareth kept him amused while I stripped the bed, threw everything in the sink and washed off the worst of it, then put it in the machine with lots of laundry disinfectant. I deal with it, but it freaks me right out.
