My Saturday
I spent a good couple of hours watching Spock/Uhura vids on YouTube, and pondered where to send JJ Abrams some flowers, or possibly an organ of his choosing, for writing the ship I've wanted to happen since I was twelve (even as a youngster with no inkling of man/woman things, I sensed it back then). And doing it so beautifully that I literally cannot take my eyes off them when I watch. The icon above makes me breathless with the rightness of that blue/red man/woman combo.
Then I went to a bbq my brother and his roommate had. The food was plentiful and full of flavor - tri-tip, sausages and chicken, all grilled to juicy perfection on this incredible outdoor concrete grill that the roommate made last summer. There was a huge fire and plenty of very engaging people to share it with. The roommate is funny, one of the funniest people I've ever met, a divorced father with a little boy, sharing his house with my divorced brother and his son. I do not want to ask what they do for fun, as the snippets of conversation I caught told me a sister does not need to know that much about her brother's social life.
But it was a fun time and my kids had a blast. Connor got cooed over quite a bit and my daughter had other kids her age to play with. Plus, trampoline. \0/
Now, today, housework, foodshopping. Dreaming of more time to write. *sigh*
