I think I just discovered why Angel calls 'Cordelia' kitten in AtS 4, right after he throws an arrow into her leg, even though he's never called her that before, souled or unsouled.
I never like to give Joss Whedon any more credit than I absolutely have to - this was probably a very happy coincidence. But within the text of the show, it makes a lot of freakin' sense, so I say huzzah!
LMAO! Nice catch, but ITA about not giving Joss more credit than he deserves. So while I think it's a cute idea, I prefer DB just adlibbing that (and meaning it). :D
It works both ways for me, because I'm easy like that (for C/A). So DB gets off on calling CC kitten and Angel wants to lick Cordy's cream...everybody's happy, right? :P
Joss gets no credit in my book so I'm going to be over here in the DB adlibbed it group. Cause that works a whole lot better in my perverted little RPF mind.
Joss gets no credit, and DB probably let something he shouldn't slip (*wink*), but it's one of those happy serendipitous accidents that make sense within the context of the show.
So basically, I'm having my cake and eating it too. *twirls*

Seriously, though. It explains it quite well, doesn't it? Hee!

TBH, I always wondered if that was ad-libbed but it goes back to Sunnyhell this way so kudos to the show either way. :D
