Saturdays....oy

I should be writing, cleaning, food shopping....any number of things.

But since I'm not, I thought I'd confess something I've been keeping to myself for a few years now.

*deep breath*

I'm not crazy about Cordelia's hair and make up during Waiting in the Wings.

She's a beautiful woman, we know this. Gorgeous face and hair. They could have kept her hair down and curled it softly so it floats around her head, and left off the curving I see in her eyeliner whenever I watch that episode. I don't know if it's meant to make her look vaguely exotic, but it didn't work for me.

Her gown was pretty but imo, they could've done better with the coloring - black or deep red, maybe green.

Slid off easily enough, though. Maybe that's what Cordelia had in mind when she bought it. Not that she'd admit to it very easily. :D

So, yeah. Those are my deep thoughts for the day.

*goes back to procrastinating*

Possibly trying to make her more Buffy-like so the if the B/A fans squinted, they might still think they were watching B/A.

No one with half a brain would ever mistake Buffy and Cordelia for each other, even though it seems like the showrunners obviously thought they could make it fly.

Sometimes I don't think the writers and such paid enough attention when they were making the canon - when giving Fred her history in Pylea they made her older than Cordelia but apparently she still got to be the sweet young thing with wide open eyes. Thank God Cordelia was never that sort of character.

Before I was online, I used to watch s2 and s3 and wonder who had it in for Charisma for her to go from gorgeous hair and clothes to doo-rags and corderoy jumpsuits. I used to think she must have pissed off a producer's wife or something.

Turns out, I wasn't too far off the mark.

Oy, don't get me started on the do-rags. WTF were they thinking? I never bought into Cordy always wanting to clean anyway. It just never fit for me into her social upbringing and that whole nasty apartment she had in S1 never looked like she knew how to clean. Then I thought, "Okay, maybe she's quirky about dust." But turning her into a real house frau with the do-rags was going too far.

I could believe her wanting to clean when it came to what she saw as her business...like in s2 when she tells Angel she's excited to get the business off and sputtering again, and feeling sweaty. She's a doer in that regard. But the house frau look late s3? Especially with the bad new 'do? Uh-uh. I think the hair was CC, probably trying to change something externally so she could feel better about whatever was wrong with her life right then *coughDamien&othermenwithDinitialscough*, but the do-rag was someone's idea of a punishment.

Either that or CC saw David wear one (I know he's been photographed wearing one) and he thought it'd be a good idea if she wore one too.

In that case, DB is a bad, bad friend.
