I should be writing, cleaning, food shopping....any number of things.

But since I'm not, I thought I'd confess something I've been keeping to myself for a few years now.

*deep breath*

I'm not crazy about Cordelia's hair and make up during Waiting in the Wings.

She's a beautiful woman, we know this. Gorgeous face and hair. They could have kept her hair down and curled it softly so it floats around her head, and left off the curving I see in her eyeliner whenever I watch that episode. I don't know if it's meant to make her look vaguely exotic, but it didn't work for me.

Her gown was pretty but imo, they could've done better with the coloring - black or deep red, maybe green.

Slid off easily enough, though. Maybe that's what Cordelia had in mind when she bought it. Not that she'd admit to it very easily. :D

So, yeah. Those are my deep thoughts for the day.

*goes back to procrastinating*

Thank god someone said it!

I have always thought that. The bangs just didn't work with her face or that style of hair. The whole wispy, I-am-not-sure-if-I-want-bangs style that starts at the beginning of the episode. And from her hair earlier in the episodes, I can't figure out HOW they made that style from what hair she had. It just doesn't look...feminine or girly enough for her. Not very flattering for the shape of her face. Its almost like Fred got the soft, feminine curls that Cordy SHOULD have had. (And I am so not going to dip into crazy conspiracy land about that)

With you on the gown too. The shape of it is fine, its nothing amazing. It would have been nice to see less plunge and more cleavage flattering. Though Angel's appreciating it. And you are right. The color is all wrong.

I never really noticed her makeup though. But I see what you mean in the screencaps.

The link isn't working for me. :(

I'm not a fan of trying to upsweep short hair. It's better, for a night out, to give it some body, let it flounce sassily (lord, listen to me make up words) around her face. I would have paid to see Angel's hands in her hair, fingers tangled....*drifts*

What?

Anyway, the dress was good just not the color. Though I see why they needed to have the top that way, so it could be easily slid down her arms.

I'd almost think they were trying to make her look kind of matronly. Don't you think? I mean, compared to Fred? *jumps into conspiracy land*

Her hair and make up was much, much better in You're Welcome.

Oy vey, sometimes its a wonder that I can navigate the internet webz at all. Angel appreciating the plunge. That should work, its my photobucket.

And for sure, she did look totally matronly. Fred was all cute, girly, and curly and then Cordy has that wrong hair and wrong colored dress for her. Gotta prop up Fred. Every man wants her! (And its nice to have another resident of conspiracy land. They make it so easy sometimes)

In YW, she was the HOT freaking sex on a stick. That hair was fantastic. Just so soft and curled around her face. And her makeup wasn't too much. Even that shiny silver blouse was better than her dress in WITW.

For sure it showed her bewbies off better than the gown, though from your screencap, Angel was appreciative just the same.

I'm pretty sure he's thinking he'd love nothing better than to take that dress down and....

Oh, wait.

You're Welcome was 100% pure uncut Cordelia Chase, HotAss.

As for Fred, if you're going to make her look like da bomb, I supposed you'd have to make Cordelia look as matronly (read: bad) as possible or it won't fly with anyone with eyes. That's why I'm convinced Cordelia was so buttoned up during most of BtVS s2. She couldn't look tastier than the star.

He does love the bewbies. I have so many screencaps where its captured just right, his eyes right at the cleavage. Her eyes were up there, buddy! If you are going to keep looking at them, the least you can do for the rest of us is touch them! Is that too much to ask?

I think you are onto something regarding BTVS S2. She didn't really dress like the most popular and rich girl in Sunnydale. She almost looked like some yuppie, out of college, in the working world. Where was the sexy, confident teen? Of course, they did that, Angel wouldn't have been looking at Buffy at all. LOL

Well, she was the main girl, so he probably would have, but only because Joss said so. :D

But if you noticed during the whole of s2, Cordelia's sporting this 'buttoned up to here' look that is so at oddds with the fashion plate she was back then. Unless you can wank it by saying that after all of Xander's mean 'hooker' comments, she's trying to dress more demurely to....ugh....please him. Still, I think it was a conscious effort on the part of the showrunners to downplay her looks and body in favor of the skinnier, less curvacious, star of the show.

Once Cordelia got to AtS and L.A., suddenly they couldn't show off enough of her skin. *eye roll*

You're not alone in the hair and eyeliner hate. When she showed up at the door with that old lady bun on top of her head, I almost screamed. The bangs thing started much earlier and it was a style then. Buffy sported the short fringe first, I think, and then they brought it over to Ats. Possibly trying to make her more Buffy-like so the if the B/A fans squinted, they might still think they were watching B/A.

And, yeah, they were totally making Cordy an old lady in S3 and making Fred the pretty young thing. Odd since, of course, Cordy was about 5 years younger than Fred. I've wondered for a long time why they played down Cordy's looks so much in S3 and there's really no reason except for punishment and to make Fred look better. Yes, I just jumped into the conspiracy pool and proud of it!

No one with half a brain would ever mistake Buffy and Cordelia for each other, even though it seems like the showrunners obviously thought they could make it fly.

Sometimes I don't think the writers and such paid enough attention when they were making the canon - when giving Fred her history in Pylea they made her older than Cordelia but apparently she still got to be the sweet young thing with wide open eyes. Thank God Cordelia was never that sort of character.

Before I was online, I used to watch s2 and s3 and wonder who had it in for Charisma for her to go from gorgeous hair and clothes to doo-rags and corderoy jumpsuits. I used to think she must have pissed off a producer's wife or something.

Turns out, I wasn't too far off the mark.

Oy, don't get me started on the do-rags. WTF were they thinking? I never bought into Cordy always wanting to clean anyway. It just never fit for me into her social upbringing and that whole nasty apartment she had in S1 never looked like she knew how to clean. Then I thought, "Okay, maybe she's quirky about dust." But turning her into a real house frau with the do-rags was going too far.

I could believe her wanting to clean when it came to what she saw as her business...like in s2 when she tells Angel she's excited to get the business off and sputtering again, and feeling sweaty. She's a doer in that regard. But the house frau look late s3? Especially with the bad new 'do? Uh-uh. I think the hair was CC, probably trying to change something externally so she could feel better about whatever was wrong with her life right then *coughDamien&othermenwithDinitialscough*, but the do-rag was someone's idea of a punishment.

Either that or CC saw David wear one (I know he's been photographed wearing one) and he thought it'd be a good idea if she wore one too.

In that case, DB is a bad, bad friend.

Cordelia started s3 off looking so good - her parted in the middle hair in Hearthrob was my favorite look on her because it made her look Lois Lane-ish.

Then somewhere in the middle of all that yummy C/Aness, it's like CC pissed in Joss's cereal and paid for the rest of her tenure. Fred is cute, in a boyish way, but no way should she ever look better than Cordelia when Cordelia wants to dress up - as for example, going to the ballet.

Cordelia's too vain for that to happen, even if she's Vision Girl by that time.

See? I missed some Angel talk yesterday wtf! I'm always late lol

I have to agree. Of course CC looked gorgeous, but they could have done a lot better with the hair. The hair piece at the top of her head, always, annoyed me. The least they could have done was put some extensions in and style it, better. I wouldn't put it past Cordy to put some extensions in her hair for a night at the ballet.

I loved the dress. It had the right amount of cleavage ;D However, I would have loooooooved if it were red. OMG Angel would have drooled even more!!! I mean, the big lug was already drooling, but I think red would have made him explode lol

Kelly said something about the Fred conspiracy. I have to LOL because even if they did try to have Fred outshine Cordy, it NEVER worked. Fred looked cute in her dress, I admit. But, Cordy looked gorgeous and HOT AS HELL in her dress. Even when Cordy was gone, it didn't work. Spike was the replacement leading lady :)

So, we're all agreed, then.

Fred isn't Cordelia and Spike makes a better leading lady. :D

lol

We have to laugh, or we'll cry.
