I think that probably did have to do with her need to cut Wesley completely out of the picture, because she would see it as a betrayal of Angel. And she was probably afraid to put a real face on Wesley's actions, and seeing him might do that.
It might have been that when all was said and done, if things had gone differently that season, she would have gone to see him. To tear a strip off of his hide and knock down his self-pity, and then hug him. I could see it either way, I think.
