Things I love
Jun. 5th, 2006 10:41 pmI love that Buffy is a terrible driver. It was one of the character continuity things that made her more human, and I think it's too cute.
I love that Willow wrote Dougie Howser fanfic. What a geek.
I love that Xander never quits trying, even if it pisses me off sometimes.
I love that Giles sings Behind Blue Eyes as if it were autobiographical, and I love how you can tell how he misses people his own age because he goes to the Expresso Pump to do it.
I love that Spike lit a cigarette while standing in front of a NO SMOKING sign, in a hospital, while helping track down the link between Ben and Glory. For Buffy. And Dawn.
I love that Anya isn't ashamed of her bunny phobia or her money loving capitalism.
I love that Tara stopped crying and lifted her chin when Glory broke her hand and asked her for the Key.
I love that Joyce always gave Buffy the benefit of the doubt, even when the police came to her door.
I love that Angel tries so hard in the face of the shitstorm that is his existence.
I love that Wes can be as bitchy as Cordelia.
I love that Gunn knows he's going to sleep in the arms of the Baby Jesus while everyone else burns.
I love that Cordelia says it because she thinks it, and I love that Angel will always think she's precious for it.
I love that Fred didn't hesitate in her intent to send her ex-professor to the same hell he sent her to. I also love that she tasered Connor. Twice.
I love that Lorne named his nightclub Caritas and meant it.
Sometimes, I think I have to remind myself why I continue to watch reruns, why I rewind tiny moments that don't necessarily continue the narrative. I like these fictional people. Their quirks, and convictions, and bad sides, and funny sides, and geeky sides. I loved this 'verse even though I hated when Joss gave us what we needed, not what we wanted.
