The hair thing

I had to wait a couple of days to see how I felt, because I am so resistent to change, I knew that I'd hate the new hair color right after I did it.
I was right.
I spent most of yesterday staring at any available mirror and cringing. I'd been grayish for so long, that seeing a head full of non-gray hair was daunting. And then there's the color. I picked a reddish brown because before I had the kids, I had brown hair tinted red by the sun. This red...well, it's different reddish.
And I have more on top of my head and not so much towards the middle and ends of my hair. I think I concentrated too much creme at the top because that's where I started.
The more I wear my new color, the more used to it I'm getting. I can't say I love it but I don't have that same sense of horror I did yesterday.
So lessons learned are: Go for a plain medium shade of brown, try to be more even handed with the distribution of the color creme. Concentrate more on the back of my head, because I missed whole patches of gray there, and not so much on top.
*sighs and wishes for Charisma Carpenter's hair*
