I'm so annoyed

I'm trying to accept that it's over. Yeah, I dwell, but I branch out, see others. I don't hole up with my memories of the good old days.

But shit, sometimes it's like the universe doesn't want me to move on.

I turned on a new episode (to me) of Criminal Minds, and the ghost of BtVS bleeds through. Not only does Nicholas Brendon make an appearance, but Mercedes McNab plays the Damsel in this episode.

I'm thrown right out of the story. *throws up hands*

Totally out. Mercedes' character is screaming and crying and all I can do is wait for the ditzy Harmony comment. Or for Xander to pop up so they can engage in another slapfight.

It'll never be over, not for me.

I did find it ironic that the killer tries to exsanguinate Mercedes' character,lol.

That's the one where he tries to turn her into his old nanny, right?

I thought she did a fantastic job, I kept saying I know this girl but couldn't figure it out until after the episode ended.

I adore Nicky on Criminal Minds but it was quite odd to see him at first b/c he'd gained so much weight.

She did a great job. It was me, I couldn't get past Harmony. *sheepish*

I didn't notice NB's weight gain. Just the awful way he dressed and the fact that his hair looks greasy. And honestly? I'm a little annoyed because I feel like the writers are saying Garcia can only find love with someone who dresses badly and is a bigger social nerd than the TRIO combined, rather than with someone like Morgan. But that's my issue entirely and probably doesn't have much to do with their actual motivations.

Did you ever see "Penelope"? There's so much Morgan/Garcia in that it's hard to believe he doesn't love her "in that way".

That's also the episode where they introduce Kevin and yes it's geek love but he's so sweet, I can't help but like Kevin/Garcia.

I so agree about "Penelope." I was holding my breath during that arc because I thought for sure they were gonna go there. That they would at least kiss, but it never happened. But, OMG, the love between them just oozed.

I've seen snippits of it on YouTube used in fanvids but I haven't been able to see the full episode. I know he pretty much takes care of her after she's released, and guards her and stuff. Saw a lot of hugging and heartfelt "I love yous" going on in those fanvids. *sigh* Loved he way he protected her.

ITA about Kevin. I do like the character and I'm glad they gave Garcia someone, but it does irk me that they had to make it another geek and they refuse to let the quirky, overweight girl get the hunky man. Way to reinforce all us quirky, overweight women's fears that in RL no nice looking man would ever have us no matter how awesome we are! Blah.

Re Mercedes, I was very surprised by how well she did in that episode and it did take me a little while to figure out it was Harmony. :D

ETA: Duh. I meant to say, I kinda agree with the throwing you out of the show. I do still see people from Ats/BtVS and realize where I know them from, but I've slowly been able to let that go. I thought for sure with Bones that I would never be able to see DB in that role and only see him as Angel working in Washington in the sunlight for some reason. But he managed to make Booth a completely different character, so it didn't take too long to make that transition in my head. But, yeah, one-shots on shows does make it difficult to get the old fandom reference out of your brain.

I'm very annoyed. Garcia is beautiful, and she's got a giant, squishy brain which you can tell Morgan loves. Not to mention I watched Mayhem on YouTube last night (when I should have been sleeping or writing) and not only does she call him first to check on the team but when he's driving the ambulance, she's talking like they're involved, asking him why it always had to be him doing the dangerous stunts and then he's confessing to her that she's his "God given solace" and to "never stop talking to him".....come on! What are the writers doing but teasing the shit out of us?? Of course they're the twosome. Kevin is nice but he could have been suave!Xander. He didn't have to be geekytothemax!Xander. That's saying only nerds would find nerds sexually attractive. Garcia is not a nerd just because her glasses are a different color and she wears lots of clips in her hair. She's got an awesome, sexy voice and a very quick mind. She totes deserves Morgan.

Re Mercedes. Her character was SO not Harmony but seeing her and NB in the same episode, all I could think about was Harsh Light of Day, lol. And yeah, DB has done a very good job of drawing the differences between Angel and Booth. I never see Angel in him, not even when it's night time and he's not being goofy for more than five minutes.

And when did you get CM icons? Are they yours?

I agree with everything you guys have just said about Garcia, Morgan and the severe travesty that was bringing Kevin into CM. :-/ I love NB, I do... And I do, in parts, love Kevin.

But not Kevin/Garcia. *sigh* She belongs to Morgan, damnit! :( For ALL the reasons you mentioned.

I think I have Penelope on disc somewhere - if I find it, I can upload it to my website for you, if you like. :)

Also, I'm not sure if you watch Supernatural or not but Mercedes was on that too and I still can't make the distinction either. I'm all-- Harmony! LOL. And then Amy Acker was on an earlier episode and my brain won't let it go either.
