I'm whoring myself to the highest bidder

Oh noes!
Um, seriously, there's this woman raising six kids between 1 and 16 in Kansas who lost everything they owned, except what they were wearing, in a house fire. She works her butt off and apparently her husband is one of those douchebags who walked away but keeps the marriage certificate so he doesn't have to marry any other woman he's impregnated - a real winner, that one.
Luckily, Renee's friends with
sweptawaybayou who's a good friend of
lostakasha. These two crazy kids have rallied fandom in response to Renee's disaster and created
fire_fic a comm where writers and artists put up their skills to the highest bidder.
There's a paypal thingie set up in the User Info over there, that desposits directly into Renee's account.
Money should not be passed between bidder and artist. *stern voice*
Go on over, offer your services or maybe there's a writer or artist who's work you love, who, if you bid enough, will custom write a story to your request and/or specifications. Lots have already joined *raises hand*, and there's room for about a thousand more.
Help in any shape you can provide it would be appreciated.
